Background
Dr. Newton began his orthopedic training in New York City with an orthopedic research fellowship at Columbia University. Thereafter, he did his general surgery internship at St. Luke’s/Roosevelt Hospital followed by his orthopedic residency at the New York Orthopedic Hospital, Columbia University, College of Physicians and Surgeons. He then spent an additional year in San Diego, obtaining a fellowship in Sports Medicine, Arthroscopic surgery, and knee and shoulder reconstructive surgery.
Dr. Newton has published extensively in peer reviewed journals and orthopedic textbooks. He won the annual and prestigious Cabaud Award, by the American Society for Sports Medicine.
